Biography
Early Years:
Born
in London to an architect father and a nurse mother,
Catherine was always
ambitious and full of life. At the age of 2, after her
parents divorced, her mother Mina decided to take them
to Los Angeles, where Catherine grew up. Learning Farsi
at an early
age, Catherine was good in school, but also had an interest
in acting, appearing in various TV commercials along
the way. After graduating high school, Catherine
entered UCLA
to study Biology. She soon
started modelling and was taken into a world where she
decided to make
her career.
Her first modelling
job was in Japan. Thereafter, Catherine returned
to Los Angeles, having decided to pursue an acting career.
Model to Actress Catherine soon found
herself cast in smaller roles and guest appearances on
shows like "Hercules", "Dream On",
and "Friends", including several commercials. She was
also the nude body double for Isabella Rossellini
in "Death Becomes Her" (1992). It was on the set of this
movie where she met her future husband, Adam Beason,
who
was
director
Robert
Zemeckis's
assistant.
Eventually her three-line
part on the show J.A.G., a military drama on CBS, led
to the starring
role in the
same series.
Catherine plays the part of Maj. Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie.
With Catherine's arrival, the show's ratings climbed
to a proud 20th position in the Nielsen's rating. Over
the years, Catherinel has been featured in numerous other
movies, including "Men of War" and "Bruce
Almighty." Her other television credits include "The
Time Shifters," "Misery Loves Company" and
the television movie "Cab to Canada," on
CBS. Catherine has a love
for extreme sports such as kickboxing, snowboarding,
riding motorcycles, and wakeboarding. Her mother is still
by her side, acting as her personal assistant and mentor.
Catherine gave birth to a baby girl, named Gemma on
16 April 2003. She has also been voted in the FHM's 100
Sexiest Women in the World three times, climbing to #20
in 2004.
