Hungarian Super Stars, The Academy Winners of the 2nd Annual Persian Golden Lioness Awards® By Darius KADIVAR
Report on WAALM®'s Official Announcements

With a deeply rooted culture and civilization that spans over more than two millenniums, Persians as a community both inside and outside their motherland have greatly contributed to the Arts and intellectual emancipation of their contemporaries. Paradoxically the turmoil's of history and exile have also enriched an introspection on ourselves as a community and on our responsibility as Artists, Writers or Intellectuals as well as citizens of our country of adoption to play a part in a dialogue of civilizations so necessary in our tormented World. It is to respond to the growing desire of not only recognition but also encouragement of Persian Artists, Writers and people of culture Worldwide as well as that of their colleagues in their new country of adoption that The World Academy of Arts, Literature, and Media – WAALM ® took an unprecedented initiative to support, develop, and promote the dramatic and fine arts, creative writing and poetry, as well as professional journalism and media productions by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners, and benefiting the public. Thus it has created the Persian Golden Lioness Awards® which is in its second year of existence has no other ambition than to encourage and promote men and women who through their work subscribe to the humanistic values and love of beauty.
The board of governors and by authority of the same on recommendation of the Academy, hereby confirm the nomination of:

NOX: An Award of Excellence in Music Category (Best Pop Band)
http://www.nox.hu/
Nox was the name of an ancient goddess who was believed to be the queen of the night. On the first album of Nox, the infinitely rich tunes and lyrics of Hungarian folk music are blended with the electronic music of the third millennium. This is how we build a bridge between the ancient Hungarian pentatonic scale with the world of contemporary music. The front man of the band is the acclaimed Nagy Tamás who is considered to be one of the greatest talents in Hungarian folk dancing. The lady by his side, Péter Szabó Szilvia, has an exceptionally beautiful voice; She was discovered by the producer. Now she has a great chance to prove her talent as a singer in the band.
Nox is now well-known around the country. In the autumn of 2003, their second album ‘Magic Spell' came out in Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia at the same time. It was a real step forward without compromising the band's sound, and it featured the band's own songs rather than cover versions. It may sound like it contains obscure folk songs or pieces from a musical or rock opera, but don't be deceived: all of its tunes were composed in 2003. The musical style did not change, essentially, but it has become more complex. Traditional and contemporary instruments are superbly blended and while, the lyrics leave behind the simple world of folk songs they retained their poetic touch. The creative team behind the behind the band has paid special attention to giving Nox a unique image that stands out in the world of Hungarian Pop Music.
