BITA VAKILI'S MIXED MEDIA

Bita Vakili, an artist from Tehran, has displayed her art in numerous local and international galleries. Her current collection is primarily mixed media on canvas, exploring the depth of life through art. She writes:

My paintings are imaginary landscapes. They mostly have been affected by far east art. There are empty spaces, ambiguity in different spaces in my paintings, not using a large variety of colors (especially dark colors), which are some of the main characteristics of eastern art.

In my paintings every person involuntary puts himself in the space, and instead of seeing the painting from outside, transfoms to a person who is inside in that ambiguous space, and has a kind of relationship with nature.

The base of these paintings are usually built without planning in the my mind, and that has always been seen in eastern art.

But in these paintings after creation of the base, I work on them again to give more shape with more Iranian details on them.

As time passes, my paintings become more simple with more empty spaces and shine.
