> > PASS THE TORCH COMES TO NEW YORK BY SHABNAM REZAEI
PAAIA features Maz Jobrani and Rudi Bakhtiar

PAAIA, the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans is organizing it's third event this time in New York City. The event takes place on Sunday April 25th called “Passing the Torch of Success”.

Similar events were held in LA with enormous success and PAAIA are looking to tap different Iranian organizations to strengthen the Iranian community and raise awareness. I, for one, will definitely be helping out and I hope you do too. PAAIA’s event, as always, is a non-religious and non-political and aims to educate future generations on success across many industries with a fantastic line-up of speakers and performers.
Rudi Bakhtiar and Maz Jobrani are returning to host the event.  Some of the very impressive speakers include:

Mary Apick (Actress)
Dr. Hamid Biglari (Vice Chair Citicorp)
Dr. Firouz Naderi (NASA for Mars project)
Hafez Nazeri- (composer)
Mohsen Moazami (Cisco’s executive team)
Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani (partner at Goldman Sachs)

A musical performance by concert pianist Tara Kamangar will also be included.
PAAIA has also partnered with some incredible academic partners, including NYU’s Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, Columbia University Center for Iranian Studies, NYU Persian Cultural Society, Columbia Iranian Students Association and the Persian Cultural Foundation. A high profile VIP reception and after party are in the works.

It is crucial in the leading weeks up to this event to encourage community and corporate sponsorships so that more students can take advantage of this amazing line-up.

If you want to become a sponsor please email pttnyc@gmail.com. The event takes place Sunday April 25th, 2010, so mark your calendars!
