“We are coming up on one of the most-defining years in our nation’s history,” says Hooman Khalili, morning personality for San Francisco’s #1 rated radio show. “We’re in the midst of one of our nation’s worst financial crisis, lowered world standing, and changing technological powers. It’s important that we don’t stand idly by and watch everything happen when so many of our citizens are not exercising their right to vote.”
“Only 47% of 18 – 24 year olds voted in 2004, compared with 64% for all other voters,” says Rosen. “We can’t let this trend continue. Citizen’s Cry was created with a team of experts and the backing of many Silicon Valley heavy weights who have vowed to make sure the message is heard.”
The video will only be released over the web through a number of social web mediums – including Facebook, Myspace, Hi5, Youtube, LinkedIn, MerchantCircle, Yelp, and Twitter. The multi-media outreach will take advantage of new social viewing habits, non-existent costs, and the web’s viral nature. Citizen’s Cry is less than 2 minutes long.
