Two day Conference in Bochum Germany in Presence of Shahbanou Farah and International Personalities
 

Saturday June 30th, 2007 the Conference CHALLENGE FUTURE that took place this weekend in Bochum, Germany allowed a meeting and debate amongst International celebrities but also former heads of State and intellectuals from all 5 continents. Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi was amongst the prestigious personalities present and it was an occasion for her Majesty to express her wishes that the World and Democratic Media pay open attention to the pleads of the Iranian youth and of Iranian Women in particular. She also expressed to see more contact and exchange between Iranians from Inside and outside her home country. It was also an occasion for the Former Empress of Iran very much active during her reign in encouraging Sports as a priority to insist on the importance of Sportsmen and Sportswomen in serving as role models to society and that this also implies a great sense of duty and responsability for all concerned.

The two days conference which concluded on Sunday with a Concert by Latin American musician Santana and other celebrities was also an occasion for a friendly and enriching exchange between the Shahbanou and some of historical international icons of the last 30 years such as Mr. Lech Walesa, Mr. Desmond Tutu both Nobel Peace Prize Laureates who particularly appreciated the Shahbanou's presence and interest in the challenges of the youth in newly founded  Democratic States as Poland and South Africa.

During the conference the Shahbanou was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of Iranian Compatriots present at the Conference and signed copies of her recently published memoires. Proving if needed of the Former Empress' popularity amongst the Iranian Diaspora.

About Lech Walesa: Born on September 29, 1943 in Popowo, Poland Mr. Lech Walesa is a Polish politician, a former trade union and human rights activist and also a former electrician. He co-founded Solidarity the Soviet bloc's first independent trade union, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, and served as President of Poland from 1990 to 1995.



About Desmond Mpilo Tutu (born 7 October 1931) is a South African cleric and activist who rose to worldwide fame during the 1980s as an opponent of apartheid. Tutu was elected and ordained the first black South African Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa, and primate of the Church of the Province of Southern Africa now the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984. He is also a recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism and was also rewarded with the Magubela prize for liberty in 1986 Desmond Tutu is committed to stopping global AIDS, and has served as the honorary chairman for the Global AIDS Alliance. In February 2007 he was awarded Gandhi Peace Prize 2005.

About Carlos Augusto Alves Santana (born July 20, 1947), known simply as Carlos Santana or Santana is a Grammy Award-winning Mexican-born American Latin rock musician and guitarist. He became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, the Santana Blues Band going mostly under the title 'Santana,' which created a highly successful blend of salsa, rockblues, and jazz fusion. Their sound featured his often high-pitched and distorted guitar lines set against Latin American instrumentation such as timbales and congas. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades, and experienced a sudden resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Over his career he has sold an estimated 85 million albums worldwide.
