Having just flown back to France from a tough set of games in Istanbul, Aravane Rezai participated in the first round of the French Open today against Marion Bartoli. Rezai lost the match to fellow French player 6-2, 6-4.
While Rezai fought hard, perhaps her injury from the Istanbul Cup, which caused her also to withdraw from the finals against Elena Dementieva slowed her down.
Rezai is still set to pair up with Julia Vakulenko of the Ukraine for a Women's doubles game at the Roland Garros French Open.
