The fur collection of Sanaz Shirazi was launched for about a year ago of the Shirazi sisters... within a years time the collection has been sold to shops in many countries in Europe and Asia.
The material used is rabbit fur, dyed or natural, and sheep fur. Most models are reversible and come in many colours. Fur as being the oldest form of material, is the perfect piece of clothing to invest in., it tells you a story and can be inherited to the second generation, who will love it as much as the previous one.
The designer gets her inspiration from her Iranian background and her heritage, the Scandinavian nature and from travels to Asia, Europe, US and South America… inspiration comes from the designer’s great interest in people, traveling, movies and music... The designer also draws her inspiration from the tradition, history and culture of her upbringing. The vests and jackets appeal to woman in any age.
The Sanaz Shirazi collection is having amazing reviews in the press, in fashion magazines and has been featured in ELLE and Costume among others.
The collection was sold at the Billion Dollar Babes event in Chicago and New York, which did amazingly well. She has also been collaborating with the Sundance Film festival 2007.
One important issue for the designer is to use fur where the meat will be used in food production. By doing great research and visiting the manufacturers, they make sure that the animals are not injured just because of their fur. They do only use animals where they know that the meat will be used for the food industry. The sheep fur is also offered organically and been ethically made.

A very important issue is that the designer never uses fur of animals which are being eliminated.
Fur is one of the few garments that can be used with jeans or an evening dress, all year long. The vests are being sold in many ski resorts all over the world as much as summer events in Europe.
There are no limits, whether it s an after ski, music festival one late summer evening, a night of amazing partying or a walk on a lazy Sunday afternoon, the vests are perfect for any occasion.
Quality and price are two of the main criteria’s for the designer. The quality is the best, at the same time the prices are not high compared to other fur labels. The cut and the quality is amazing and the style is truly bohemian and unpretentious.
The styles have a hand made, and some has a vintage feeling quality, which gets more personal, charming and unique.
The vests are quite light weighted and have an incredible fitting. The styles are very romantic and unpretentious. Fur is timeless and always in fashion. Its one of the first garments that the human beings have used!! It represents tradition and history. For winter 2007 there will be hats, men’s vests and many more styles to follow.

Sanaz Shirazi’s own words:
“Earlier this year me together with my sis, made our first collection of gilets. It all started with my mum's reversible fur/suede coat that she had bought in India in the 70s….It is my favourite jacket , and after doing some research within the marked we noticed that there weren’t that many fur products which are reasonable/affordable, have a great quality and could be used by both mothers and daughters.. Inspired by the jacket and aiming for a better quality of fur gilets, made us want to start making the vests.
The gilets are made from suede, leather and natural or dyed rabbit fur, and come in different colours. Most of the models are reversible, and the collar and the shape are very different than what you will find in todays marked. All the products originate from traditional food production or legal hunting.
My inspiration is from my upbringing in Persia and my childhood in India, where I attended an English school...My second home England and holidays to Cornwall, on the south west coast of the country... And of course Norway where I have been raised.....The Norwegian nature is a true inspiration…

As for my background goes, I went to a business school and have a BA in International marketing. I always felt there was something missing when I was working within several marketing jobs, I wanted to set up my own company and be more creative.
A true inspiration is Hafez Shirazi. Hafez was a very famous Persian poet from 1300 Century Shiraz. His poems are amazing, very beautiful and romantic. The images from Hafez and Persian rugs will be embroidered on the logo of the vests, which symbolizes some of my Persian heritage.
Our fur gilets are a combination of boho, young, and down to earth designs...Fur doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive.
Our philosophy is to make wearable, timeless clothing.”
