This year our haft seen pictures are from all over the world, including submissions from Tehran, Toronto, Seattle, New York, Vancouver and more.
Notable photos were sent in by Syma and Paul in Tehran, Iran Davar Ardalan and family (Samira, Saied, Aman and Amir) from Maryland, and Asal and Reza. Special thanks to Mrs. Afsar Moghadam for setting a wonderful Disney-themed haft seen for her grandchildren and providing photos from her home in Los Angeles.
Finally, we have a Norooz enthusiast who has set her Haft Sheen table. She told us that the Haft Sheen consists of Sharaab (wine), Sheer (milk), Sharbat (sherbet), Shirini (sweets), Shekar (sugar), and shemshaad. It is believed that before the invasion of Islam in Persia, our ancestors celebrated the coming of the new year by setting a table with seven 'sheen's or seven items beginning with the Persian letter 'sh'. The last two photos showcase a beautiful haft sheen display.
