Several years ago, I visited a 700 years old shrine in Bidgol (Near Kashan-Iran), and noticed with shocking surprise, the angel paintings were 'dressed' in black. It seemed the angels themselves were also surprised! Fortunately the act of misdirecting our illustrative history had not taken place before, and fortunately the habit of angels getting dressed has occurred after the invention of Photography. I happened to take these pictures before the angels had any chance to dress themselves up.
